Seikenji Temple


Seikenji is a famous temple of the Myoshinji Rinsai Sect and was built in the Nara Period. Its garden is a nationally designated scenic spot. On the temple grounds are a temple bell, plum trees planted by Lord Tokugawa Ieyasu and the 500 Buddhist disciples that appear in the novelist Shimazaki Toson's novel.Seikenji is also a famous spot for moon viewing.
