Southern Alps Area

Home of Beautiful Waters

The Southern Alps Area, which includes Kita-dake Ridge, the second tallest peak in Japan, is a mountain range that stretches over three prefectures – Shizuoka, Yamanashi and Nagano – with 13 peaks rising to more than 3,000 meters, 10 of which are located in Shizuoka City or on the city borders. The magnificent scenery of primeval forests is breathtaking.
